COOL ROOF

COOL ROOF

A cool roof is meant to reflect more sunlight than a standard or conventional roof, and absorbs less solar energy. This lowers the temperature of the building. Normal roofs can reach temperatures of 150°F or more on a hot summer afternoon. A reflective roof could stay more than 50°F (28 °C) cooler under the same conditions.  This will save energy and money in buildings with air conditioning, and create more comfort and safety in buildings without air conditioning, by lowering heat flow from the roof throughout the entire building.
